Lasting Designs is a website dedicated to The Sims 3 residential and community lot downloads of excellence and quality. We have many different types of lots and are expanding daily. Does this website contain anything for The Sims or The Sims 2? No. Lasting Designs' lots are all strictly for The Sims 3. Is this website completely free? The website is completely free to access and the lots are free to download. Donations that are strictly from generosity are also accepted (via the Donation Page) and are greatly appreciated, but are not required in order to download content. How can I contact you? You can contact us by using the 'Contact Us' page, found here, by @mentioning us on Twitter or by leaving us a message on the 'Discussion Page'.  Parts of the website are not working/showing up properly. See 'Trouble viewing the site?' There is a dead link on the website. If you encounter a dead link on the website, please contact us here so we can reinstate the proper link.  How do I download a lot from the website? If the lot you are trying to download is a regular lot, you can download it by simply clicking the download button on the lot page. It will take you to the download page where you simply click 'Download'. The lot is not downloading from the download page. If the file is not downloading from the download page, our host's services could be down for maintenance. Try again in a little while. If the problem still persists, please contact us here. How do I install a downloaded lot to the game? When you download a lot from this site, it comes with a .Sims3Pack extension. Double-click the file and it will automatically install into your game via The Sims3 Launcher. Is the lot compatible with my Base Game and Expansion/Stuff Packs? Read 'Gameplay Support' for more information on this topic.  How do I find my current Base Game patch version? To find out which current Base Game patch version your game is running, Click here. *Base Game patch versions always start with a '1'. To view the current and previous game versions, Click here. My Base Game patch version is lower than the one required. What do I do? If your Base Game patch version is lower than the one required on the lot page, you will need to update your game version. To do this, open The Sims 3 Laucher and click on 'Game Updates'. On that screen you will be able to update to the latest patch version. My Base Game patch version is higher than the one required. Is that okay? Yes. The lot requires the Base Game patch version listed, or greater. Which icons belong to which Expansion/Stuff Pack? By hovering over the Expansion/Stuff Pack icon on the lot page, the name of the Expansion/Stuff Pack will show. I don't have all the required Expansion/Stuff Packs listed. Lots can be installed and will work properly regardless of the Expansion/Stuff Packs they were built with (shown below), as long as you have the same, or greater Base Game patch version (shown above). Any items used in a lot from an Expansion/Stuff Pack that you do not have installed will only result in that specific item not being visible in the game. Are the lots fully furnished? Lot furnishing is indicated on the lot page. Most lots currently do not come fully furnished due to the allowing of personally made Custom Content. Lots may be slightly furnished with items that come included with The Sims 3, or if Custom Content is included, it will be listed on the lot page. How do I install a downloaded lot to my game? When you download a lot from this site, it comes with a .Sims3Pack extension. Double-click the file and it will automatically install into your game via The Sims3 Launcher. The lot is not installing with The Sims 3 Launcher. Lots are installed by double-clicking the .Sims3Pack file. If it doesn't download, try re-downloading the lot. If problems still persist, contact us here. Parts of the lot seem like they are missing an object(s) during gameplay? You may not have all the required Expansion/Stuff Packs installed. If an object from an Expansion/Stuff Pack is included in a lot and you do not have that pack installed, the item will show us as invisible. If you do have all necessary Expansion/Stuff Packs try re-downloading the lot file. If the problem persists, contact us here. I installed the lot, but it doesn't show up in my game. Re-download and re-install the file. If the problem still persists, contact us here.  What is the 'Discussion' page? The 'Discussion Page' is a chat application that enables users and admin of the site to discuss the website, answer any questions or comments, or just chat with fellow users! Do I have to create an account somewhere to use the discussion box? No. You simply enter a username of your choice and an email address/website and you can post instantly. Can we contact you using this? Yes. You can contact us using the 'Discussion Page'. How do I know who are Lasting Designs administrators? Administrators of Lasting Designs use the name 'admin' to chat on the 'Discussion Page'. What if someone is pretending to be an administrator? Administrators of Lasting Designs use the name 'admin' to chat on the 'Discussion Page'. Anyone using that name that isn't an administrator of the site will be banned from sending anymore messages and his/her messages will be deleted. What is not allowed? The 'Discussion Page' is always being monitored. Any profane or crude comments will be deleted and the user will be banned from sending any more messages. How are people banned from sending more messages? People are banned via their IP address for a period of 12 months.  What is Twitter? Twitter is a real-time information network that connects you to the latest stories, ideas, opinions and news about what you find interesting. For more information regarding what Twitter is, visit the Twitter official about page. Do I need to have a Twitter account to follow Lasting Designs? You do need a Twitter account in order to follow Lasting Designs. You can sign up for an account here. If you do not have a Twitter account, or you do not wish to sign up for one, you can still view and read our Twitter feed here. How do I follow Lasting Designs on Twitter? If you wish to follow Lasting Designs on Twitter, visit our Twitter profile here (@theldesigns), and click the 'Follow' button located at the top of our timeline. If you do not have a Twitter account, you can sign up for one here. What will the site's Twitter feed consist of? Our Twitter feed will consist of updates to the site, daily news and new uploads added to the site. We may also use our Twitter feed to @reply users who are using Twitter to contact us. Can I contact you via Twitter with an @mention? You can @mention us on Twitter to contact us. Our Twitter is checked daily and we will try and get back to you as soon as possible. If we do not reply back to you, you can contact us here. To view the website with complete and functional working HTML, javascript and CSS, Lasting Designs requires you to run the website on the latest version of your web browser.
